Cost-effectiveness is a crucial consideration when selecting a water treatment system, ensuring long-term usability that supports sustainability goals and helps protect the planet. Our PaquaVida Water Filtration units are designed to operate with minimal energy, regardless of location—keeping running costs low and enabling you to enjoy your own clean, wholesome water supply without financial strain. For areas experiencing intermittent power availability, Paqua can also provide a customised energy solution. This serves as a “back-up” during any temporary loss of your usual power source, ensuring continuous operation.
We designed the unit to be accessible to all, meeting the needs of every customer. If you are concerned about maintenance, rest assured that the PaquaVida system requires no lengthy downtime for cleaning. Instead, it utilises a natural disinfectant solution called PaquaLyte to remain free of biofilm, fully autonomously. Learn more about how our water units can reduce your water supply costs over the long term below:
Low energy costs
The PaquaVida Water Filtration unit can be powered by solar energy or wind turbines. Wind turbines provide one of the most cost-effective energy sources available, supplying you with exceptionally cheap fuel. By generating your own energy, you reduce dependence on the National Grid, naturally translating into lower energy costs. During peak demand periods, solar power can generate more energy precisely when you need it most.
We recognise that access to solar energy can be variable depending on your location. To address this, we offer an uninterrupted power supply option to maintain essential modules within your PaquaVida unit whenever your usual power supply is down. The uninterrupted power source recharges as soon as your primary or backup power becomes available again. This proactive and sustainable approach mitigates potential challenges, ensuring cost-effective and continuous functioning.
PaquaVida units operate largely autonomously, eliminating the need for dedicated technicians to monitor the water supply. This can be immensely helpful for locations without the resources or expertise to maintain complex systems. The only manual task is the occasional addition of salt to facilitate continuous disinfectant production—a low-cost, straightforward step.
Low cleaning costs
We employ a natural disinfectant solution that is both safe and highly effective at destroying bacteria and viruses that might otherwise compromise your water supply. Known as PaquaLyte, this solution removes the need for harsh chemicals, which can pose risks to human health and the environment, as well as drive up costs through constant replenishment. PaquaLyte is produced from only salt, water, and electricity, meaning salt is the only consumable resource that requires periodic replacement. This minimises the need to store or source additional chemicals, reducing reliance on external supply chains.
At Paqua, sustainability underpins our entire production and manufacturing process. We generate PaquaLyte on-demand, reducing waste, costs, and excess storage. The unit independently doses the correct amount of disinfectant, preventing waste. Additionally, water loss from our units is minimal—less than 15% combined for both water treatment and PaquaLyte production.
Longevity and simplicity
When developing the PaquaVida units, we prioritised simplicity and long-term reliability. Making changes to existing infrastructure can feel daunting, prompting concerns about increased workloads or navigating unfamiliar technology. By designing a fully integrated system that includes its own cleaning solution, we have helped ensure easy operation, offering you peace of mind.
The PaquaVida unit can produce clean drinking water for up to 20 hours per day, seven days a week, with automated cleaning taking place during the remaining hours. Major components have a life expectancy of 5 to 7 years (provided that authorised servicing is carried out and all electrical components comply with WEEE regulations). With its ease of use, minimal maintenance requirements, and more sustainable treatment methods, we believe the PaquaVida Water Treatment System can transform water infrastructure in a wide range of settings.
